Preventative Dentistry

Many people wait until they are experiencing tooth pain to go to the dentist.  Our philosophy at Glacier Centre for Dentistry is to promote healthy choices helping to avoid discomfort in the first place.  Preventative dentistry includes regular cleanings and check-ups along with instruction in ways to improve home oral hygiene care and nutritional counseling to support strong teeth.

For our youngest patients, ages 1-6, we provide a cavity risk assessment with their exam.  The purpose is to identify habits and factors at an early age that may contribute to dental disease now and in the future.  Changes made today can lead to a healthy mouth and therefore better overall general wellbeing.

Other preventative treatments we provide include:

• Dental sealants to protect deeper grooves of the teeth from decay formation
• Nightguards to protect teeth from excessive wear due to clinching and grinding at night
• Fluoride treatments to help harden softened, decay prone teeth
• For patients that suffer from dry mouth due to medications or systemic  health issues remineralization  treatments to help strengthen teeth are available

 We also provide appliances for Sleep Apnea.  The TAP III may give a patient an option other than wearing a C-pap mask while sleeping.
